I’m cleaning my cupboards and trying to “thin”. I have a bunch of jars I’ve been saving for one reason or another. This was a jelly jar that I really liked the shape of. I just couldn’t throw it away so I decided to turn it into a vase for the bathroom. I used Cindy Loo (I nudged/welded two of the borders together, then sized to fit the jar in DS..hint, use a string around the jar to know exactly how long to make the border). I cut it from black vinyl, then added some stones and a ribbon around the threads of the jar…and then of course, added some fresh flowers from the yard. Thanks for looking!
I can’t count how many times the boys have had rocks in their pockets and then I find them clanking around in my dryer. I can’t get too angry, because they get that from me. I can’t go to the beach without grabbing a nice smooth rock (we have rocks here on our beach, not sand). I grabbed these last week and thought it would be fun to put them in the boys’ bathroom. I used black oracal vinyl and the words were all from Home Accents (sized in DS to fit the rocks). I think they would be really pretty around a candle too, but until the boys quit playing with paper airplanes, we will avoid candles and stick with seashells. Thanks for looking!
Look at this cute stool I found at a garage sale yesterday for $1! OK, it wasn’t so cute when I bought it, but I brought it home, sanded it, painted it black, distressed it a bit, put a clear coat on it, then decorated it with vinyl…now its cute! I have a duet washer and dryer and they are on those pedestal drawers. Being only 5’2” (and that’s a stretch) I can never reach the cupboards above them, so I’ve been looking for a footstool to keep in the laundry room. I used Cindy Loo for the elements and the vinyl is Certainly celery (from Stampin Up) and Orchid from a bulk buy I did (both are oracal brand vinyl).
I used regular vinyl, which normally comes off when it gets wet, but I made these a week ago and have watered with no problems. Maybe it’s the acrylic paint? I don’t know, but it works great. I made a couple of pots with seeds and soil to have on hand for gifts (I just put a scoop of soil in a clear cellophane bag and tied it with linen thread). Fun, quick, and inexpensive…my favorite kind of project! Thanks for looking!
I’m vinylizing my home, one room at a time. This is in my entry now. The images are all from Home Decor, the bird, branch and leaves are all separate, but then I did them together in DS, overall length is 11.5 inches (as big as I could fit on the mat). The wreath I just bought at Micheals. It is very springy and has sparkly clear beads on it 🙂 Thanks for looking!
